These documents represent state-by-state break-outs of contracts, grants and loans reported quarterly by prime recipients of Recovery funds. The first reporting period covered February 17 through September 30, 2009. Subsequent reporting periods cover actual calendar year quarters.
Beginning with the recipient reports posted on Recovery.gov on January 30, 2010, the “Funds Awarded” and “Funds Received” categories reflect cumulative totals for each state. The "Jobs" category, however, is not cumulative and represents only jobs funded with Recovery money during the quarter for which the report was filed.
The figures in the state-by-state break-outs represent data reported by prime recipients. Only prime recipients are required by law to report the number of jobs funded with Recovery spending. In addition to their own jobs data, prime recipients gather and report jobs data from sub-recipients. A small number of contracts, grants and loans is listed in the charts as “unassigned,” meaning that, based on the data reported by recipients, it was not possible to assign the Recovery spending to a specific state. Spending and jobs data for territories also is included in the chart.
