Michigan submits second application for $993 million in Recovery Act funding for high-speed rail projects
​October 16, 2009 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced today that a second application totaling $993.6 million for improvements to the Chicago Hub (Chicago-Detroit/Pontiac) High-Speed Rail Corridor was submitted for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds on Oct. 2. The application was sent to the Federal Railroad Administration's (FRA) High-Speed Intercity Passenger Rail Program, which will provide $8 billion in competitive federal grants to support high-speed and intercity passenger rail projects across the country.
