Georgia has won another cut of stimulus money to spread high-speed Internet and wireless access in underserved areas through three projects. Gov. Sonny Perdue on Tuesday announced $14.9 million for broadband expansion in rural areas of the state. Bulldog Cable Georgia Inc. got $11.3 million to offer broadband around Lake Sinclair. The project will upgrade 42 miles of cable and expand an additional 163 miles, serving more than 12,000 people and 1,300 businesses in the area.
