| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
Transuranic (TRU) waste processing continued at H-Canyon remediating 7 Misc. Steel Boxes (MSB) and 3 Large Steel Boxes which were repackaging into 48 Standard Waste Boxes (SWB), 9 Standard Large Boxes (SLB) and two Drums. The final H-Canyon DSA revision for the higher PEC waste was submitted to DOE for approval. Operations in the F Canyon Drum Line continued with 130 legacy drums and 114 box line generated drums remediated. F- Drum continued on two shift operations. Operations in the F Canyon Box Line continued on two shifts with 38 SWB and 5 Ten Drum Overpacks (TDOP) remediated. Cell 11 completed the remediation of 22 SWBs originally planned for F Box to gain schedule float. Culvert mining of Pad 1 waste continued, with 5 drums and 13 boxes retrieved. The remaining Pad 1 culverts will be sent to H-Canyon for mining. E-Area began polybox venting and repackaging into SWBs and completed 5. Dewatering of Pad 1 culverts was also completed. 40 shipments of Contact Handled TRU waste totaling 276 m3 were sent to WIPP for disposal consisting of 519 drums, 81 SWBs, and 5 SLB2s. An additional 76 m3 of legacy TRU waste was disposed of as Low Level or Mixed Low Level waste. Due to the project’s ability to reduce costs and gain schedule contingency in several remediation process areas, preliminary planning efforts were begun on several streams associated with the last approximately 200 m3 of very difficult waste. |

SRNS has included both prime contractor and first-tier subcontractor full-time equivalent calculations in the Number of Jobs being reported for this reporting period of 459.4 full-time equivalents (FTEs).
Prime Contractor (SRNS) Jobs – At the initiation of the ARRA project, prime contractor jobs were retained as accelerated area completion (clean-up) and waste management work scope was funded to the ARRA Project. Since that time, additional SRNS workers have been added to the ARRA project to meet job performance requirements. The Prime Contractor portion in our Number of Jobs reported specific to this project during this reporting period, represents 284.7 FTE’s
First-tier Subcontractor Jobs - SRNS employed a strategy to support its directly employed workforce through first-tier subcontractors who are used to augment the SRNS workforce. Additionally, fixed-price first-tier subcontracts have been awarded that further increased the number of ARRA jobs at SRS. The first-tier subcontractor portion in our Number of Jobs reported specific to this project during this reporting period, represents 174.7 FTEs.
