Project Activities Description Crisis Intervention
Quarterly Activities/Project Description The Virgin Islands Criminal Victims Compensation Commission pays expenses and losses to or on behalf of individual victims of violent crime. These expenses and losses include medical, counseling, funeral bills and wage losses. The bereavement camp will provide counseling to a minor child of a parent who was a homicide victim. The expenses related to the bereavement camp contribute to the economic health, and thereby job retention and creation, of service provider businesses, the individual victims and the communities in which in which these victims and providers reside. The Criminal Victims Compensation Commission provides financial assistance to innocent victims of crime. The new project will be a bereavement camp for minor children whose parent(s) are homicide victims.
