As part of the Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation, Defense-wide, Recovery Act on Recovery Project No. 109213 - Southhampton Creek Stream REstoration Project. The goal of this project is to restore bank stability, improve aquatic habitat, and reestablish the sediment trasport cycle along an approximately 2-mile stretch of Southhampton Creek. Restoration of the creek ecosystem is a considerably significant undertaking. Disintegration of creek ecology could have profound negative impacts to the Pennypakc Watersehd, as Southhampton Creek is the northeast tributary of the watershed. Work is to start immediately upon award and has a completion date of 1 November 2010.
