Quarterly Activities/Project Description The Public Computer Center is in full operation with daily hours of 7:30am to 9 pm daily including weekends. The center is closed on holidays that the college observes. There is a broad range of activities in the center including classes for vocational trades, skills lab training for GED preparation and basic skills, classroom-based workshops on computer applications and a variety of family oriented activities using computer and mobile technologies such as iPads and Android devices. This quarter included a number of diverse activities including web-page building, Microsoft training and game-making. There were special training events for middle-school youth and a week-long Entrepreneur Week. Center staff are involved in community outreach activities to promote the center. The Center Director participated in a panel discussion at the NTIA Broadband Summit in February, and a Northwoods (Wisconsin) Research Summit on the Future of Broadband in March.
