NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL UNIVERSITY
Technology Assisted Legal Instruction and Services, or TALIAS, expands access to the NCCU School of Law's nationally-ranked legal education and clinical programs. TALIAS employs a fully immersive telepresence environment to offer both undergraduate courses and legal assistance at four Historically Black Colleges and Universities: Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, NC A&T University, and Winston-Salem State University and at Legal Aid of North Carolina offices, Pisgah Legal Services Offices and two mediation centers.

| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
This quarter, NCCU School of Law hosted workshops that gave residents in North Carolina legal advice on child custody, child support, IRS tax help and domestic violence. Legal Aid of North Carolina hosted several child custody sessions. Also, the American Bar Association visited the Law School and received a demonstration of the Telepresence room. They were able to sit in on a videoconference hosted from a Polycom site in Herndon, Virginia which mirrored the Telepresence room here at the Law School. |

Project Coordinator will coordinate and manage the day to day project goals and activities. Grants Manager will communicate with the funder, the administration, and project partners to ensure that the reporting is accurate and that the project is implemented in a manner consistent with timelines, budgets, and other identified deliverables. Technical Support Analyst will provides server, desktop, and technology support to faculty, staff and students. The Site Managers will coordinate the daily operations, trouble shoot problems, and generally maintain the facility. The Site manager will also act as a primary liaison for the Virtual Justice Project between NCCU School of Law, the partner site, and program participants. |
