Community Service Block Grant Stimulus - The monies will be used for the reduction of poverty, the revitalization of low-income communities and the empowerment of low-income families and individuals within the territory of the Virgin Islands to become fully self-sufficient. The populations to be targeted are recipients of Temporary Aid to Needy Families, homeless men and women, adult and juvenile offenders preparing for re-entry into the community, families with at risk youth, foster care youth, Hospital Ground Community to include families with at risk youth.

Quarterly Activities/Project Description The Department of Human Services received 23 reponses from RFPs. We are currently in the process of selecting and notifying succcessful applicants. Sucessful applicants will be required to provide current and valid corporate documents for execution of grant awards through our procurement system. Upon execution of grant awards projects will commence. Anticipated date for commencement of all projects will be on or before November 1, 2009.
