SAFE BOATS INTERNATIONAL LLC
The grant will be used to purchase equipment to transport product within SBI facilities, from raw material to the finished product. Equipment will also be purchased to assist in the manufacturing process, allowing SBI to work with larger raw material and increasing the amount of work with newer and more efficient equipment.

The grant announcement was made August 17, 2009. Since then, SAFE Boats International has purchased all of the welding and plamsa cutter equipment, engraving machine, boat carts, power clamp meter, 70ton RTC Crane, gantrys, and wire label printer. SBI also contracted with an electrical contractor to increase power capabilities and wiring to serve the new equipment. SBI contributed the 25% matching portion of the grant and has submitted two reimbursement requests. SBI requested and was granted an extension of the grant deadline to October 2011 due to manufacturing delays. Deposits have been made on the Press Break and Transporter. SBI expects to take delivery of the 15ton Deck Crane and forklifts in July. |
