Contracts - AWARD SUMMARY
LATA/PARALLAX PORTSMOUTH, LLC
Investment in this project will accelerate the demolition of three surplus building complexes (11 individual buildings) at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, removal of estimated quantities of soil, and disposition of excess uranium material. This will create or preserve jobs for the available existing skilled workforce to immediately execute this project. Specific accomplishments include:
• Accelerates the removal of all X-533 Switchyard above grade structures and associated equipment and subsurface soil characterization of approximately 772,000 ft2 of area.
• Accelerates the removal of 58 cooling towers and the pump house in the X-633 area, including all above grade structures and associated equipment and subsurface characterization of approximately 410,000 ft2 of area.
• Accelerates the deactivation and pre-demolition activities associated with the X-760 Chemical Engineering Building including removal and disposition of all associated equipment.
• Evaluate and treat the primary trichloroethene (TCE) source of contamination through soil oxidant treatment in 70,000 square feet of the areal extent of the ongoing source area, as defined in the Ohio EPA’s Decision Document for the SWMU Quadrant II of the Portsmouth Facility, Piketon, Ohio Dated December 2003 (X-701B Decision Document)
• Accelerates repackaging and disposition of 8 lots of uranium material
