Project Activities Description Housing Counseling
Quarterly Activities/Project Description The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) provides funding to subgrantees. ADOH monitors the awards and verifies funds are for allowable costs. After an extensive audit and monitoring, funds have been reallocated and there are a total of 16 contracts. The 13 contracts serve rural areas of the state and 3 serve the urban areas to include Mesa, Glendale and Maricopa County. Subgrantees provide rental, utility assistance, and case management services to persons who would be or are homeless without this assistance. The funding is not provided directly to individuals. In the quarter 608 persons in 222 households were assisted with financial assistance and stabilization services. The grant has ended and all assistance has been provided and 100% of funds were expended.

Description of Jobs Created The jobs created for this award include homeless prevention counselors that meet with individuals to assess their needs. Positions have also been created for case managers, as well as administrative staff that monitor and account for the award. There are also staff that train the sub-grantees on the use of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) that HUD requires all homeless data to be tracked in.
