UPPER COLUMBIA RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
Kulzer BioEnergy Park. A multiple phased biomass to energy demonstration project with combined heat and power facility for 5 MW power generation, bio-char, bio-oil, and syngas production, and other commercially marketable timber products. Site will occupy two separate campuses. This is only the first phase of a multiple phase construction project. Initial equipment purchases, and establishing a small operational demonstration unit are the goals. Permitting issues must be resolved during this phase - expecting delays of some magnitude due to the nature of the new technology being deployed. Remaining construction phases will be dependent upon the initial permits being let by state agencies regulating air quality. The first full scale burner will be installed at the Springdale Lumber and BioEnergy site to demonstrate capacity and practicality. Follow on construction at the Kulzer site will occur as funds are made available to demonstrate the full 5 MW capability of a multiple burner/boiler production system. Total cost of the project if completed is $20,000,000.
