FUND FOR PUBLIC HEALTH IN NEW YORK, INC.
The NYC Department of Health (DOHMH) will significantly expand and enhance its comprehensive tobacco control program. DOHMH is nationally and internationally recognized as a leader in tobacco control, based on its success at implementing a set of interventions that are evidence-based, aggressive,effective and complementary. The set of interventions proposed by the DOHMH will build on past successes, as well as launch new activities selected to have maximum impact on reducing tobacco use. To direct and implement this ambitious set of interventions, the DOHMH will rely on a
Leadership Team made up of influential policymakers, organization leaders and tobacco control experts. DOHMH will also work closely with additional agency and organization partners, longstanding vendors and contractors, and the NYC Coalition for a Smoke-Free City, comprised of 80 NYC community organizations.

In Quarter 1 of 2013, CPPW Tobacco worked on dissemination of information about many CPPW projects through published manuscripts. Papers that are in progress highlight:
-Our tobacco dependence treatment training programs with staff of programs serving clients with severe mental illness (expected publication date of May 2013)
-Our Healthy eQuits Pay for Performance Clinical Systems Improvement Program
-Our work to help the City University of New York's 24 campuses go tobacco-free
-Our Tobacco-Free Hospital Campaign
-Our Light Smoker Public Education and NRT Campaign,
-Outreach to the Russian and Chinese communities, and
-Results from our Tobacco Behavior and Public Opinion Survey.
Additionally, we have recently presented information about CPPW projects at the 2013 Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco annual conference relating to our Light Smoker Campaign, and Smoke-Free Housing results from the Tobacco Behavior and Public Opinion Survey. |
