OAK RIDGE CITY CENTER LLC
The purpose is to create a large-scale technology demonstration project utilizing cost-share under DE-FOA-0000116 which is in alighment with the goals of the ARRA of 2009 as well as with the DOE's stated EERE program objectives of developing and establishing Net Zero Enerrgy Commercial Buildings by 2050. the redevelopment project will deploy ground-source heat pump systems to ultimately provide 1470 tons of heating and cooling capacity to retrofitted and newly-constructed buildings, with 630 tons deployed in the early project phases. The project will incorporate hybrid-GSHP technologies which have been shown to to produce significant first-cost reductios over conventional GSHP systems. The project will be a multi-year, multi-phase project affording an immediate and ongoing platform for high-impact investigation, evaluation, integration and analysis of existing and emerging commercial building technologies directed toward the renovation of exiting buildings and newly-constructed buildings. The project, when all phases are fully completed, will produce approximately 1,345 jobs; 920 as a direct result and 425 as an indirect result. The emergy efficiency elements of the project will also result in lower operating costs for retailers, enabling production of the same profitability under reduced revenue scenarios, resulting in sustainability of direct jobs created.
