Project Activities Description Professional Development & Training
Quarterly Activities/Project Description RCCAA Head Start hired two staff members to serve as early learning mentor coaches. Objective is to promote positive, sustained outcomes for RCCAA Head Start children. In order to accomplish this RCCAA has hired mentor coaches to work with teachers and teachers aides at a minimum of 24 hours per week. They are available to assist in any classroom issues as needed and monitor and observe classrooms on a daily basis. Furthermore a number of training classes have been conducted for teachers on various classroom related topics including student transitions, room arrangements, and the early learning standards framework. A total of 50 teaching staff are receiving this support in all Head Start locations and classrooms in Raleigh County, West Virginia in order to improve their classroom performance. early learning mentor coaches.
