ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, UTAH DEPARTMENT OF
This award provides a source of financing for the construction of wastewater treatment facilities and associated infrastructure, green infrastructure, estuary projects and program administration. The primary purposes of the simulus grant through the CWSRF are to: preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery through the investment in infrastructure projects that will improve water quality and will provide long-term economic benefits.

On behalf of the Water Quality Board, the Department of Environmental Quality - Division of Water Quality has held 6 loan closings for wastewater construction projects and has executed 8 principal forgiveness agreements for the "Green" projects. Project #179 is a principal forgiveness agreement awarded to another state agency--the Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR). As a state agency, data gathered from DWR is reported within the Prime Recipient information. To date, construction has begun on all eleven (11) of the infrastructure projects and all projects have spent their entire ARRA awards. |

The Department of Environmental Quality - Division of Water Quality uses the 4% Administrative Set-Aside amount from the award to fund personnel expenses of staff directly working to meet ARRA objectives for the Clean Water SRF program. Subrecipients reported jobs created/retained through the end of December 2011 for work completed by in-house employees, by construction contractors, and by engineers. Total number of jobs is equal to 2.04 FTEs. |
