MISSOURI HOUSING DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
The Tax Credit Assistance Program (TCAP) filled financing gaps caused by the reduction of equity investment in the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. TCAP provided gap financing for the construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing projects affected by the deteriorating housing market. The Recovery Act required housing credit agencies to distribute TCAP funds competitively, in accordance with the Agency’s Qualified Allocation Plan. This Plan can be found at http://www.mhdc.com/rental_production/index.htm. Projects awarded low income housing tax credits in fiscal years 2007, 2008 or 2009 were eligible for funding, but the housing credit agency had to give priority to those projects that were expected to be completed by February 2012. The TCAP funds received by Missouri Housing Development Commission were being used to provide gap funding to 24 affordable housing developments across the state of Missouri, which resulted in 1,474 units of affordable housing for our state.

TCAP funds have assisted 24 projects (12 are for families and 12 are for the elderly) throughout the state of MIssouri, including Kansas City and St.Louis and surrounding areas, as well as the out-state areas. This resulted in 1,474 units of affordable rental housing. A listing of all 24 projects receiving TCAP funding is posted to our website at http://www.mhdc.com/notices/arra/default.htm. Developments completed are Rock Ridge Villas, Grand Apartments, Salisbury Park III, Oakwood Seniors, Moritz Place, Fjeld Arms, Warrensburg Seniors, Cambridge Heights, Commerce Building, Country Villas, Eliot School, Homefield Villas, Homefield Townhomes, Jennings Seniors, North Newstead V, Ozark Meadows, Silver Brook Estates, Woodbury, Summit Grove Seniors, The Woodlands, Courthouse Apartments, Palestine Commons, and Castle Park. |
