Work continued on finalizing components of the Phase 1 scope of the Upper Mojave Well Field and water Supply Pipeline Project (R³), including recovery wells RW-3 - RW-6, the East Conveyance Pipeline, the West Conveyance Pipeline, the South-of-Rock Springs Pipeline, the Zone 1 Reservoir / Zone 2 Pump Station and Central Chlorination Facility, the Zone 2 Reservoir Retrofit, Turnouts 2, 3, 6 and 7, and
SCADA System.
The East Conveyance Pipeline (ECP) is 100% complete.
The West Conveyance Pipeline (WCP) is 100% complete.
South of Rock Springs Pipeline and Flow Control Facility Construction is 100% complete.
The Zone 2 pump station/zone 1 reservoir construction is 100% complete.
Wells 1&2 construction is 100% complete.
Well equipping of wells #3,4,5, & 6 construction is 100% complete.
Turnouts 3,4,6, & 7 construction is 100% complete.
SCADA control system is 100% complete. |

The estimated number of jobs was calculated by obtaining the number of ARRA-funded hours worked on this project during the quarter by staff of the recipient, applicable subrecipients and vendors. The total of those hours was divided by the number of hours in a full-time schedule for this quarter, resulting in the number of full-time jobs reported in the previous section. | Infrastructure Purpose and Rationale |
This project is a regional project that will provide a wide range of benefits to the stakeholders in the Upper Mojave River Basin. The project is part of the Intergrated Regional Water Management Plan, is in the CalFED Bay Delta solution area, provides long term groundwater conjunctive use, and is a top priority in the region's Urban Water Management Plan and Groundwater Management Plan.
State Water Project water is imported to recharge areas in the Mojave River flood plain. This imported water is stored in an extensive regional groundwater aquifer system. Imported water is recharged when available to be used in years when imported water is not available. This project constructs groundwater wells, pipelines, pumping facilities, storage reservoirs, and clorination facilities to deliver potable water to seven regional water participants.This supplemental water will help reverse the overdrafting of the regions groundwater and stablize the water resources of the area. |
