MISSOURI DIVISION WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Department of Labor awarded Missouri a National Emergency Grant (NEG) to operate a Statewide On-the-Job Training (OJT) program providing training opportunities for Dislocated Workers and wage reimbursement for employers to offset the extraordinary costs of training. Missouri plans to place 186 Dislocated Workers into On-the-Job Training opportunities. The NEG targeted population is for dislocated workers who have been unemployed beyond the state’s average Unemployment Insurance (UI) duration. Preference will be given to Veterans.

Q4 2012- There were unused funds on September 30, 2012. This can be partially attributed to regions using other funding sources for OJT opportunities due to the participant eligibility requirements are less stringent than the MO-33 OJT/NEG program eligibility. Missouri continues to stress the importance of all OJT funded through not only MO-33 OJT/NEG but also through local formula funds and State OJT funds set aside for returning veterans. No further expenditures will be incurred on this project. |
