Marshfield Clinic, a leader in health information technology, is a valued partner who’s extensive experience will enable the Social Security Administration (SSA) to effectively execute their vision of improving the speed and quality of the disability claims process.
Utilizing the National Health Information Network (NHIN) and the continuity of care document (CCD), represents a fundamental change in the management of medical information. Partnering with the Marshfield Clinic will leverage more than 20 year of experience in developing a comprehensive, CCHIT certified, Electronic Health Record system that has been built upon a robust service oriented architecture (SOA). With more than two million individual electronic health records, Marshfield Clinic’s SOA successfully transacts more than 12 million XML and Web Service calls per day.
Through a strong partnership, the SSA and Marshfield Clinic can extend what exists today to provide a more efficient and effective medical information gathering process. The following proposed technical approach will further exemplify Marshfield Clinic’s extensive technical expertise with SOA, CCD and EHR systems.
