Project #1: Haxton Way Pedestrian Bicycle Path: Safety Project. Construction of 9500 linear feet of pedestrian trail with two foot bridges, 1600 linear feet of boardwalk, 1000 sq.yds. of concrete sidewalks, 900 linear ft. of concrete traffic curb, 800 sq.yds. concrete pavement, 7000 linear feet of limestone trails, wales and misc. storm drains inprovements. Project #2: Kwina Sidewalk Project: Safety Project. Construction of 1607 sq. yds. concrete sidewalks and misc. storm drain improvements. to enhance community connectivity. Project #3: Blackhawk Way Sidewalk: Safety Project. Construction of 384 sq..yds of paved trail, 438 sq. yds of pervious pavement, swales and misc. storm drain improvements to improve school zone safety by providing a sidewalk facility for pedestrians traveling to and from the school and community center. Project #4: Robertson Road Extension. Safety Project. Construction of 1000 lineal ft. of gravel road, swales and misc. storm drain improvements to extend the existing road through a housing development. |

| Infrastructure Purpose and Rationale |
The Lummi Indian Business Council finds that transportation infrastructure is vital to the future economic prosperity
of Tribal Members living in Lummi, located in Bellingham, Washington. The Council finds that building and
reconstructing roads, bridges, trails and pathways on or which provide access to The Nation improves the safety
and security of the Tribal Members and non-members who live and work on Lummi and in the City of Bellingham;
and renews the sense of pride that all member have for the Tribe and their environment.
The improvements are necessary to provide safe egress and ingress for the citizens of the Lummi Nation, Whatcom County
and other visitors to the area. |
