BUSINESS SEED CAPITAL, INC.
SBA Micro Loan Program - The growing number of U.S. immigrants and the expansion of self-employment that began with the woman's movement of the '60s and '70s has created a market for micro-enterprise programs stateside during the past decade. Business Seed Capital, Inc is established in 1996 to help low- to moderate-income people succeed and filling the growing need for small business loans that banks and other lending institutions won't touch in the eleven counties and cities it serves. BSCI provides business development, technical assistance and lending services for new and emerging businesses throughout the region, specifically targeting low income populations. This target audience is typically subject to considerable economic distresses such as limited incomes, barriers to employment, damaged personal credit, and low educational attainment. They may have an idea that has merit and can be transformed into a microenterprise, but with little savings to invest and no small business ownership experience, they find it difficult to obtain loans and supportive technical assistance. They need a combination of services to build a workable business that they can manage and grow.
