To originate and service microloans (ranging $1,000-$50,000) to qualifying small businesses in Maine. Total money to lend is $750,000 for an estimated 37 loans.
These loans were made during the quarter: $50,000 loaned for the expansion of a metal tank installation company; $20,000 for the expansion of a child daycare center in a rural area; $14,500 loaned to an Iraqi refugee toward start up costs for a neighborhood grocery store. With these three loans full deployment of the $750,000 Recovery Act loan amount has been reached. The Recovery Act funds are now being re-loaned as repayment is received. Total Recovery Act deployment including re-loaned funds now stands at $771,462.
