Quarterly Activities/Project Description The State of Michigan has begun grant implementation. These funds target employers who are experiencing a skills gap between their existing needs and prospective workers. Participating workers will be able to earn a paycheck while they receive training and participating employers will receive partial reimbursement for up to 50 percent of their training costs. A major portion of this grant is being dedicated to the Michigan 'No Worker Left Behind' program due to the increased demand for training and long term training obligations. Jobs were assigned to Michigan Works Agency administrative and program operations. Administrative duties were performed across various areas including planning, financial management, and operational support. Program duties included outreach to employers, assessment of individuals and case management functions.
