OREGON DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
The WIA National Emergency Grant (NEG) will be used to fund On-the-Job-Training (OJT) plans in all workforce regions in Oregon for dislocated workers who were laid off on or after January 1, 2008. This NEG award will follow the guidance in TEN 38-09 (April 12, 2010). The Local Workforce Investment Areas developed a strategy to identify need in the local regions and communities, the regions capacity and readiness of service delivery of OJT’s.

The WIA National Emergency Grant (NEG) was used to fund On-the-Job-Training (OJT) plans in all workforce regions in Oregon for dislocated workers who were laid off on or after January 1, 2008.
At the local level activities performed during the course of the award included assisting participants with program supports in On-The-Job Training (OJT) settings. Other activities included recruitment of employers for OJT opportunities and providing technical assistance for field staff, participants and businesses. At the state level, state administrative guidance and oversight were provided.
The review of the final reporting has been completed and all payments have been made. The number of participants was lower than anticipated which resulted in lower grant expenditures. The grant is under budget and no additional draws will be made.
