Quarterly Activities/Project Description	Internet2 is a non-profit consortium of research universities, industry and government that operates a high-performance national telecommunications network designed to support the specific needs of researchers, scientists and educators within the consortium. The payment of two metro circuits will provide infrastructure for the N-Wave backbone network that will be operated by NOAA. It is through the N-Wave network that NOAA researchers and scientists will be able to communicate and collaborate with one another via a high-capacity, high performance network and reach the NOAA Cooperative Institutes that are generally located on the campuses of the Internet2 Network Participant universities. The metro circuit fees cover the contracted time period: 04/07/10 - 04/6/11. The metro circuit deployment for New York and Atlanta are critical elements for supporting the N-Wave backbone connecting to the designated major NOAA research compute sites. In accordance with the Contract Internet2 has delivered circuit connectivity for the New York and Atlanta Metro circuit.
