NATIONAL OPINION RESEARCH CENTER
NORC as the Prime Recipient of these ARRA funds is required by our task award to provide the appropriate personnel,materials,supplies, and services and do all things necessary for providing its best efforts to perform Recovery Act work for the Evaluation of the IT Professionals in Health Care (Workforce Program). This evaluation is being conducted for the Office of National Coordinator(ONC) of Health Information Technology in the Department of Health and Human Services. The purpose of this evaluation is to assess the effectiveness of each of the components of the ARRA-funded Workforce Program and the coordination across components. This new data-collection activity will also provide vital information to ONC program officers and grantees to help them strengthen the program as it is implemented over the next several years. In order to conduct the evaluation, NORC will engage in the following activities; designing an evaluation methodology; developing and fielding web-based surveys of students and instructors; creating and disseminating course evaluation forms; conducting site visits, focus groups, and interviews; analyzing the data; reporting the findings to ONC; and disseminating the results to the field. NORC will provide annual reports to ONC to present the findings, which will be used for continuous improvement of the Workforce Program.

| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
Between January 1, 2013, and March 31,2013, NORC continued to collect and analyze data as part of the evaluation of the IT Professionals in Health Care ("Workforce") Program. During this period, NORC conducted additional data-collection activities by launching the Community College Consortia (CCC) Cohort 3 follow-up survey. NORC also conducted preliminary analysis of the University-Based Training (UBT) Cohort 3 baseline Survey ( which closed the previous quarter) and additional analyses of each UBT grantee (region), combining Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 data. The team submitted key findings from the Texas UBT site visit and final CCC and UBT Site Visit Reports and blurbs for posting on the ONC website. NORC submitted an outline for the final summative report as well as an Academy Health Annual Research Meeting abstract for ONC for review and approval and then to AcademyHealth for consideration. Additionally, NORC presented Workforce findings on an ONC Deep Dive conference call. The NORC Team and JBS International, Inc., continued work on the typology analysis and submitted to ONC the measurement model and frequencies on each variable, a typology work plan and a summary of descriptive statistics.NORC invoiced $152,674.89 during this quarter.
