ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES, NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF
NC Department Environment and Natural Resources-Division of Air Quality was awarded a State Clean Diesel Program Grant to fund a retrofit/replacement/repower program targeting school buses, long haul trucks, marine vessels, and other non-road and on-road vehicles. During this quarter, the final two subgrantee invoices and 10 heavy-duty truck rebates were paid. The final report was prepared and submitted to USEPA. All other federal required grant close-out forms were submitted. |

OMB guidance was followed to calculate the jobs numbers. Technology providers were contacted to determine the number of man hours required to do the various projects that were performed by our subgrantees. These numbers were recorded in a spreadsheet with a description of who provided the number of hours to complete a project. That number was divided by 520 to determine the jobs for that quarter for that project. Each quarter the activities, based on what work was shown on the subgrantee invoices, are multiplied by the number of jobs for the tasks accomplished. Then they are summed for the various projects to obtain the total jobs created/saved for all work completed that quarter but excluding work completed in previous quarters. E.g. the time to repower a marine twin engine fishing vessel was reported by the technology provider as 160 hours. 160/520 = 0.31 jobs. If we had 2 marine diesel repowers completed this quarter, that would total 2 x 0.31 = 0.62 jobs from marine diesel repowers for this quarter. During this quarter, 2 fishing vessel repowers, 1 with 1 engine and the other with 2 engines, no Auxiliary Power Unit rebates, and 10-2010 truck rebates. This number accounts for ARRA money spent this quarter only and excludes grantee cost share. |
