Grant awarded and NTUA notified on 06/30/2010; Metrics and Benefits and Project Management Plans approved in January, 2011.
Activities include training for 1) retraining of meter readers impacted by SGIG Project (e.g. AMI deployment); 2) SmartGrid training; and 3) electric utility training. The electric utility training included indenturement of electrical apprenticeships resulting in certification as electrical journeymen.
Retraining and re-assignmnet for three meter readers has been completed.
NTUA is working with Navajo Technical College in the development of utility training for vocational and higher education skills. The first cohort to begin in the fall of 2012. |
