The IT infrastructure created through this grant represents a state-of-the-art platform on which to build, test, and deploy large-scale behavioral intervention studies and advance the science at the intersection of behavioral economics and health. Linkages between this portal and a variety of home-based and hand-held health measurement devices were established, facilitating interventional studies to improve management of chronic disease among older adults. In addition, this project contributed significantly to the creation of future-looking high technology jobs in the Philadelphia region.

Quarterly Activities/Project Description We are pleased to continue reporting that progress for the Way to Health project moved along well and is now complete. We have filed our final report with NIH. Highlights are included in the final report but in brief we completed development of the platform, created linkages with a number of wireless home-based devices, launched 9 pilots with a number of external partners, and tested all the desired functionalities successfully. We also used the data generated as pilot data to obtain approximately $25 million in further peer-reviewed external funding, leading to significant additional job creation. We are grateful for the support for this platform that helped fun creation of an infrastructure that is now the cornerstone of a large number of research projects testing innovations in health care delivery.
