HARWICH, TOWN OF
The work consists of salt marsh remediation measures at Old Warf Road, and Uncle Venies Road. The proposed work is to design and install culverts to improve tidal flow to salt marsh systems that currently are restricted to undersized culverts. The design and construction of the system shall meet and conform to NRCS practice Standard 657, Wetland Restoration, in addition to local and state requirements. Design and methodology procedures shall include monitoring of tidal elevations on both sides of the restriction , geological investigation, topographic survey, hydraulic and hydrological modeling of existing and proposed conditions for the spring tide and the 10-yr, 25-yr, 50-yr, and 100-yr storm events, proposed water elevation impacts on abutters, proposed entrance and exit velocities for stability and safety and inlet and outlet protection. Design may require a property survey by a licensed Professional Surveyor. Other components may include headwalls, toewalls, wingwalls, leveling pads, cofferdams, and water removal. Other work shall include items typically associated with road construction projects such as traffic control, pollution control, structure removal and disposal, slope stabilization, road resurfacing/patching, replacement of guard rails, loaming and seeding, and safety measures.
