Significant effort was spend this quarter on the collaboration with K. Sheen on revising the JPO (Journal of Physical Oceanography) manuscript. In particular, significant inconsistencies between fine- and microstructure ratios were found in two data sets collected in the same region shortly after another. As these data sets involved 3 microstructure profilers and 3 ADCPs (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) it took a lot of effort to trace the inconsistency to a subtle but important problem with one of the ADCPs. Removing the data from the affected instrument required a significant re-working of the manuscript, including re-doing many of the calculations, re-drawing most of the figures, and modifying the interpretation. |
