This project involves a short section of 14" water main extension together with a 12" water main extension to unincorporated Albany County south of the City of Laramie. The total length of the combined water main to be installed is approximately 20,000 lineal feet. The project will be looped with existing water mains, to solve water quality issues related to dead end sections of main. An additional benefit of this project is to increase fire flows while new areas are provided access to potable water which will create new development while protecting the existing acquifer.

Quarterly Activities/Project Description This project involves a short section of 14" water main extension together with a 12" water main extension to unincorporated Albany County south of the City of Laramie. The total length of the combined water main to be installed is approximately 20,000 lineal feet. Project to date: funds were obligated with Rural Utilities Service to combine with previously awarded funds (59% of total eligible project cost) from the State of Wyoming's Water Development Commission. Construction of the project has not started. A design consultant has been selected and the agreement has been executed. The original alignment was abandoned due to easement issues. A new alignment has been developed and design is complete. The City of Laramie acquired and finalized all necessary landowner easements and utility agreements which included 14 landowner easements and 5 utility agreements. The design and specifications have been submitted to the funding agency(s) for review. Once the funding agency(s) have reviewed and approved the design and specifications, the City of Laramie will begin the advertisement for bid, possibly during the first week in May.
