Design Services for the Rehabilitation Improvements for the Rio Grande Canalization Protective Levee System Located within the Upper Rio Grande Flood Control Project; estimated quantity is 6 months at unit price of $1,079,424.83 per month, totalling $6,476,549. Work requirements included the design of proposed levee rehabilitation improvements to approximately 108 miles of levees in New Mexico and Texas consisting of raising the levees to the top-of-levee elevation provided by the USIBWC, providing seepage control structures, as required, to control through-seepage and under-seepage, and rehabilitating existing pipeline/culvert structures and appurtenances located within the levees by modifying them to be in accordance with the raised levee cross-section, repairing gates and gatewells, as required, and adding gates to ungated structures. In general, the work requirements under the scope of work will be sufficient to lead into contracting and performance of construction of the proposed levee improvements. Specific activities included: administrative / project management; preparation of engineered designs to USACE standards and standard industry requirements and guidelines, preparation of seepage control structures if required, preparation of construction drawings, design of modifications to any structures, preparation of technical specifications, preparation of opinions of probable construction costs, preparation of design reports, and bidding services.
