BOOZ ALLEN HAMILTON INC.
Booz Allen will provide expert services that will complement and support the Electricity Infrastructure Analysis. Subcontractors, Sexant Technical Services LLC, and Navigant Consulting provide support in the development of studies, the performance of analyses, communication and outreach activities of a broad range of existing, novel and emerging technologies related to the generation, delivery and consumption of electrical power. The work will include cost and benefit analyses of demonstration projects in order to produce reports, papers and tools as related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Booz & Company (subcontractor) will develop business case analysis related to the ongoing Smart Grid deployment nationally to assess the current state in order to elucidate the value of the Smart Grid investment. The focus of the effort will be toward national systems view of the Smart Grid business case and leverage both data and metrics that will be forthcoming from the current ARRA Smart Grid Investment Grant (SGIS) and Smart Grid Demonstration Projects (SGDP). Horizon (subcontractor) provide support on Smart Grid benefits.

ESPA ARRA Energy Infrastructure Analysis (Prime): Assisted Department of Energy and ARRA grant recipients in developing their metrics and benefits report plans to capture the benefits derived from ARRA funding. Developed tools for the analysis of these benefits and the context in which they are realized.
Navigant Consulting, Inc. (Sub): Supported DOE-NETL in DOE Smart Grid coordination conference calls involving staff from DOE headquarters , National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and various contractors. Developed descriptions of opportunities and approaches for meta-analyses of SGDP and RDSI projects for consideration by NETL and DOE headquarters. Coordinated with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in setting up build metrics reporting forms for SGDP. Addressed questions related to the Energy Storage Computational Tool from SGDP Storage Demonstration projects and other storage technology stakeholders. Navigant provided guidance to recipient project teams during the process of developing Metrics and Benefits Reporting Plans (MBRPs); and as members of the Data Analysis Team for each project, reviewed draft MBRPs, developed feedback to guide edits, and provided approval recommendations for completed MBRPs. On SGDP Storage Demonstration projects, Navigant also coordinated with Sandia National Laboratory subject matter experts to further ensure that appropriate performance parameters and data acquisition systems are properly included in the demonstration test and reporting plans. Smart Grid Business Case Analysis: Performance of analysis, analytical tool development, and coordination activities that are not specific to any individual SGDP or RDSI project. Cost, Metrics and Benefits Analysis of Smart Grid Demonstration Program Review, analysis, and coordination activities related to metrics and benefits associated with individual SGDP and RDSI projects.

The Recovery Act funded work on the project described in this report has had a positive impact on Booz Allen Hamilton, as well as its subcontractors and suppliers.
