| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
This project has been 100% completed. During this quarter (3rd quarter of 2011), the remaining work item under change order # 2 which was processed and funded by US-EPA consolidated grant 2010 in the amount of $148,748.80 were completed. The replacement of approximately 1200LF of existing 4"ACP forcemain to 6" C900 PVC forcemain inside joeten housing subdivision and the connection existing 6 residential homes into the new public sewer system along Dahon Drive were done during this period.
Payment Requests #'s 14, 15, and final payment # 16 has been processed and reimbursed by EPA for a total amount of $35,972.00
A pre-final inspection was performed on September 1, 2011 and punch list items were issued the next day. The contractor corrected all items listed on the punch list and a final inspection was conducted on September 15, 2011 for the purpose of determining the acceptability of construction. The date of final acceptance was also set on September 15, 2011.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in front of W8 Lift Station on September 16, 2011. The ceremony was attended by Carl Goldstein for EPA, CNMI government officals and CUC management and engineers.
This report is FINAL. The total federal amount of ARRA expenditure is $347,336.50 which is less than the award amount of $350,000.00. This is because the amount or work for this project is less than the budget. This project is fully completed and that no more funds will be expended. |

project from July 1 2011 to August 14, 2011. Various jobs was created by the contractor during the course of construction like engineers, heavy equipment operators, plumbers, carpenters, masons, steelman, helpers and surveyors.

Presently the W8 lift station pumps wastewater through 6 different lift stations in order to arrive at the Agingan WWTP. The first segment of collection piping conveys sewer down As Terlaje Hill which continues to fail resulting in overflowing sewers. This project will remove 2- lift stations (W-8, and W-9) from the As-Terlaje Hill and provide a more energy efficient mode of conveyance to the WWTP. It also removes 6 additional lift stations as the new alignment is mostly gravity to the Agingan WWTP. As a result, the project is also considered a ?green? project. |
