BOEING COMPANY, THE
NASA will provide to Boeing a shipset of F/A-18 FCCs (2 dual FCC boxes) that has the 1750A RFCS processors along with spare flight computer cards from NASA aircraft number 837. NASA requests that Boeing upgrade the RFCS from a 1750A computer chip to a 68040 computer chip build, test, document, and deliver a production support flight control computer (PSFCC) shipset using spare components obtained from Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA's) from NASA’s F-15 aircraft # 837 to be provided by the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC). BAE will be a subcontractor to Boeing to perform the modifications. Boeing will verify and validate the functionally of the PSFCC shipset using F/A-18 test facilities located in St Louis. The PSFCC shipset will be acceptance tested using test plans approved by NASA conducting these tests at Boeing prior to shipment to NASA Dryden. Upon receipt of the shipset, NASA Dryden will perform a built in test (BIT) check to ensure functionality was not impaired during shipment. Boeing will support ground tests of the units to be performed at NASA Dryden.
