Quarterly Activities/Project Description Head Start promotes the school readiness of low-income children through the provision of comprehensive health, developmental and family services. The program received a Cola/Quality award of $106,561. The COLA portion of the award, $28,708, was used to deliver the required 1.84% temporary wage enhancement and related benefit increases to approximately 53 Head Start staff. Per the Program Instruction, at least 50% of the quality Improvement portion of the award, $77853 must also be used to improve the compensation and benefits to specified Head Start staff. Our agency chose to use the entire Quality Improvement award to provide an additional 7% temporary wage enhancement and benefit increase for the entire Head Start staff of 53 employees.
