LEWISTON, CITY OF
The purpose of this JAG grant is to fund the purchase of specialized equipment, radio technology upgrades, and vehicle purchases to support patrol and criminal investigation operations in these jurisdictions. Some of this equipment will be used to support community policing efforts to the newly established Community Resource Officers in Lewiston and bicycle and Segway purchases for the Auburn Police Department. The objective of all agencies involved is to enhance community policing efforts in all of the effected jurisdictions by providing effective transportation and equipment for officers involved in community outreach programs, patrol operations, and other specialized operations such as drug enforcement and violent crime reduction.

| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
The Lewiston Police Department continues to operate the Community Resource Team Office with ARRA Byrne funds. This quarter, funds were used to sustain their operations by paying for internet, phone and air card services. In addition funds were used to purchase supplies and equipment for the weapon cleaning armory to be housed at the Lewiston Police Department. The armory was completed this quarter and is currently being utilized. Two new rifles and three shotguns were purchased as outlined in our tactical equipment requests.
The Auburn Police Department, Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office, Livermore Falls and Sabattus Police Departments have completed their projects.
