Quarterly Activities/Project Description Project Description 1. Increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program. 2 Provide training and educational opportunities to all Head Start staff to improve their qualifications. 3. Provide training and certification opportunities to Family Advocates and Family Services Manager to obtain additional skills working with families. 4. Provide professional development to teaching staff to improve staff qualifications 5. Pre-Service training and Quarterly training opportunities 6. Improve playground environments and safety 7. Improve classroom environments and safety including introduction of technology. Quarterly Activities; 1. Tuition and book assistance to teachers attending classes 2. All staff received a cost of living adjustment effective July 1, 2009 3. Gary Montgomery training: ABC?s, 123?s, and An I Can Attitude: Building Blocks of Success. Included travel costs 4. Playground Improvements: a. Bike Track installed b. Playground equipment: circle cycle c. Planted trees and sod d. Storage barn built at Petersburg site e. Fence at Jasper expanded to create additional play space f. Ground prepared for mulch to be added on Jasper playground 5. Printer for classroom 6. Plumbing work at Jasper to install an additional toilet in children?s bathroom 7. Annual audit costs for ARRA review 8. Building Improvements: Awning built at Jasper and Newburgh sites 9. Classroom Improvements: a. Printer purchased for Newburgh site b. Children computers purchased for Petersburg site
