CITY OF DURANGO
Airport Development - Rehabilitate and reconstruct the aircraft parking apron - Durango-La Plata County Airport, Durango, Colorado. The south one half of the apron had totally failed and created a safety hazard due to the potential of foreign object damage to aircraft. The north half of the apron had seriously deteriorated and also presented a safety hazard to aircraft due to aggregate material potentially being injested into jet engines. The rehabilitation/reconstruction was a critical project and will have a service life of 20 years. The project benefits all users of the airport, especially general aviation. military, air ambulance and air cargo operations.
