ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act. The purpose of this funding is to increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program and to provide professional development to teaching staff to improve staff skills and knowledge. This Early Head Start program serves 40 children through center based, home based, and prenatal services. Our community is the campus of North Central State College and The Ohio State University-Mansfield, and as such we serve children of student-parents of these institutions who reside in Richland County, as well as, five surrounding counties. The purpose of our program is to provide comprehensive child and family services to enhance children?s development, support family members in their roles as primary caregiver and educator of their children, and help parents meet their own goals, including that of economic independence.
