| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
The chiller produced a maximum of 346-Tons capacity which was limited only by the test block. However, all parameters indicate the chiller at low head (<65oF seawater) will be capable of producing more than 350-Tons. However, at this high capacity, the trade-off between physical size of the chiller and energy efficiency becomes apparent. ? On 20 Mar 2013, the HES-C chiller successfully achieved its design benchmark of 300-Tons with Condenser Inlet Temperature of 97oF and Chilled Water Outlet of 42oF and operated stably for 4+ hours. The magnetic bearings continue to operate without any issues. |
