TAMPA HOUSING AUTHORITY
The purpose of this grant is for facilitating the transformational energy efficiency and green retrofits to extensively increase energy efficiency and environmental performance of public housing properties.
The activities slated to be accomplished will involve but not limited to the following:
Replacement of existing appliances with Energy Star appliances complete with Americans with Disabilities Act accessible features as needed, and energy efficient operation.
Replacement of existing Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning systems with energy efficient high performance at 16-18 SEER (Seasonal Energy Environmental Ration) or better.
Replacement of existing inefficient hot water heaters with new hot water heaters with heat recovery systems at select properties.
Replacement of existing single pane windows with energy efficient double insulated pane, with low emissivity and U factor of no more than 31.

The Housing Authority received this award notification from U. S. Department of Housing & Urban Development on 9/24/2009. As of 09/30/2012 the grant is 100% obligated and expended. The status of each funded work item is as follows:
Contracts have been awarded based on bids for the supply and installation of new appliances to Lake Region and Malphus and Son at Arbors, Azeele, SoHo, Bay Ceia, Belmont Heights Estates, Gardens at South Bay, Oaks at Riverview, North Boulevard Homes and Annex, Mary Bethune, Azzarelli, C. Blythe Andrews, Shimberg, JLY Gardens and Annex, Scruggs, Seminole and Squire Villa, St. Louis and St. Conrad. These projects are 100% complete and closed out .
Gibraltar Construction has been awarded a contract for the installation of range hoods that includes upgraded electrical supply wiring and circuit breakers for JLY Gardens and Annex. The Project is 100% complete and closed out.
Contracts have been awarded to Hayes Construction, Ovation Construction and J. O. DeLotto and Sons for the installation of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems and thermostats at Mary Bethune, Azzarelli, Arbors, Bay Ceia, Soho, St Louis, St Conrad, Azeele, C. Blythe Andrews, Squire Villa and Seminole. These projects are 100% complete and closed out.
Contracts have been awarded to Ovation Construction, Hayes Construction, and Boran, Craig, Barber and Engel for the installation of water heaters and heat recovery systems at C. Blythe Andrews, Moses White, Seminole and Scruggs. These projects are 100% complete and closed out.
Contracts have been awarded to J. O. DeLotto and Sons, Hayes Construction and Ovation Construction for the installation of windows and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems at Bay Ceia, SoHo, St. Louis, St. Conrad, Arbors, Azeele, Azarelli, C. Blythe Andrews, Squire Villa, Mary Bethune, Seminole, Shimberg, Scruggs and Cypress West. These projects are 100% complete and closed out. |
