| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
1) Expected Results: Provide career development and educational support for educational staff; provide professional development to child development and educational staff to improve services to children and families; expand outreach and strategic planning activities for hard-to-serve populations; increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program; and improve the quality, safety and accessibility of the facilities by re-furnishing classrooms.
2) Status of Significant Deliverables: the PKHS program has achieved the following program deliverables: Educational and Child development staff received educational support and career development including 126 teacher assistants received a credit bearing CDA course, 85 staff members received reimbursement for college tuition or workshops, and Education Coordinators and Instructional Specialists received four weeks of professional development during the summer; outreach activities were expanded including multiple outreach activities to immigrant, refugee and other hard-to-serve families; outreach strategies where improved with the completion of a comprehensive needs assessment that included an analysis of the program's benefits and barriers to services to homeless, immigrant, refugee and asylee populations; and the quality, safety and accessibility of more than 45 classrooms were improved through additional materials and new furnishings. |
