Head Start promotes the school readiness of low-income children through the provision of comprehensive health, developmental and family services. *A portion of the funds pays for half of the cost of a new building. *All staff receive an increase in compensation and fringe benefits. *Professional development opportunities are provided for teaching staff to improve educational qualifications.
