ST JAMES, PARISH OF
The project is the upgrade of the existing water treatment plant in St. James Parish East Bank Water Treatment Plant in Convent, Louisiana. The project will increase the treatment capacity of the water plant from 1.5 million gallons per day to 2.7 million gallons per day. The project will allow the Parish government to provide increased water treatment capabilities for new industries and residents.

Upgrades to the Convent Water Treatment Plant will improve the public infrastructure of the region, support economic development in the parish, attract new industries, and create high wage jobs. An estimated 19 new jobs will be created. On September 16, 2010 it was announced that a new industrial plant will locate in St James Parish. The upgrades to the water treatment plant were a contibuting factor in the site selection. |
