ADMINISTRATION, RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF
The Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, Research, Development and Analysis program will provide funding for a Project Management Plan that will carry out and monitor all project activities. The Office of Energy Resources (OER) will develop a Workforce Development Plan that will address hiring, retaining and training personnel on Smart Grid applications and vulnerabilities, critical intrastructure interdependencies, cyber security, energy suppy systems, energy data analysis and communications. The OER will develop an Energy Assurance Plan to incorporate response actions for new energy portfolios, including Smart Grid technologies. The State will incorporate provisions of the EAP in the energy element of the State Guide Plan, as appropriate. The OER will initiate an Energy Supply Disruption Tracking Process for the duration, response, restoration and recovery time of energy suppy disruption events. The OER will conduct, or participate in at least two Energy Assurance Exercises to simulate, through table-top exercises, energy emergency/disruptions, both within the state and on a multi-state or regional scale, incorporating local, state and federal agencies and industry as appropriate.

The office is currently exploring using the remaining funds on an emergency transportation initiative or training. |
