Quarterly Activities/Project Description 1) Supported three efforts to initiate food system infrastructure projects through one-on-one training and technical assistance; 2) Researched and wrote case studies of successful small-scale processing, as models for farmer and organizational partners; 3) Researched and wrote rationales for investment in specific agricultural processing infrastructure to articulate the community benefits of individual projects and help our partners access financing and gain public support; 4) Compiled individual cases into a white paper making the case for investment and support of local agriculture infrastructure; 5) Provided information and tools to help other organizations and farmer groups initiate their own infrastructure feasibility projects and assess the economic impact of new infrastructure; 6) Involved a broad group of farmers and farm service providers in the research process; 7) Disseminated the research widely.
